THE CHOICE
THE CHOICE
WAYS TO PARTICIPATE ON THE PREP:
•Web-Savvy Techies: We always need help in Photoshop, with digital editing and graphics, general IT assistance, web work, illustrators, etc. We need to portray our vision…
•Networkers: We need networking addicts to feature this story on networking sites like FaceBook and MySpace, Tribe etc. or comments and blogs of their own choice. These posts can point to the Choice site, in order to encourage participation and they can include images and text from The Choice site. This may assist your own networking efforts.
•Writers: Aspiring writers are encouraged to write stuff about this happening, which can be used on networking sites...may even be used on the official Choice site.
•Equipment: we still need lots of scaffolding and a tandem-axel, flatbed cargo trailer (lost in the fire)
•Order a Sculpture: One of my established apprentices would be thrilled to make you a future heirloom. Timeless Sculptures will donate its cut to the Choice production costs. You can learn more about the commissioning process here and what kinds of furniture and statuary they can do on this website, built to design with people over the internet: www.TimelessSculptures.com
•Apprentices: Timeless is considering accepting a few new apprentices, to participate on this amazing adventure. Here's a chance for the right aspiring sculptor or two to learn some valuable skills from a true master. You may become a crew member for the Installation...maybe even help work on the huge liberty sculpture, or attend Flip-Side, in Texas this spring. Dorm privileges available for respectful applicants. For more, visit: http://www.timelesssculptures.com/apprentice.html
•Help Find Who Dun It: Any of your insights, eye-witness accounts or especially images of last summer’s installation before or after the arson would be very helpful!!

WAYS FOR INDIVIDUALS TO PARTICIPATE ON THE PLAYA:
Crew for the installation: (link to The Vision section) First, we’ll need help loading up and transporting two huge, heavy, big, bulky, stubborn sculptures, equipment and scaffolding to the playa (a good three hours from The Timeless Sculptures studios in Carson City). Then we’ll need to assemble scaffolding around both in-progress sculptures (so spectator/participants can come up write on, carve on and oil their sculpture of choice.) So we’ll need a friendly supervisor/instructor(s) on the site at all times…we’ll need to train these folks, so the best thing would be show up in Carson City a bit early and get involved. You can stay with us and you’d help with set-up, operation, take-down and clean-up.
Help create and operate the Theme Camp: Some people have suggested that this little voter’s booth in the desert (during an election year…Whew!) should be defended from another arson attack (spelsly with that pesky theme...shhhh!!) Anyway there’s been this cool idea about doing a theme camp for this purpose (link to Theme Camp) Great idea! Trouble with ideas...the better ones lead to work!
They’ll need help setting up, before and after Bman, operating the functioning camp, breaking the camp down, schlepping stuff off and cleaning up the nice mess. Should make for fantastic performance art and wonderful friendships…

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE ON THE PLAYA:
The installation is designed to stand on its own, if need-be and that is all Timeless will be able to commit to bringing to the playa. Here are two more components that Timeless will consider “parting out” to the right individual or group(s):
Theme Camp manager: Some people have suggested that this little voter’s booth in the desert (during an election year…Whew!) should be defended from another arson attack (spelsly with that pesky theme...shhhh!!) Anyway there’s been this cool idea about doing a theme camp for this purpose (link to Theme Camp) Great idea! Trouble with ideas...the better ones lead to work!
We need just the right, seasoned burner or group who has managed a theme camp and who would be honored to head this up.
Symbolic burn of Anarchy: The process has been much simplified, with the idea of having participants slather the charred sculpture with melted paraffin wax, there on her tall pedestal stump, let cool and then burn the huge candle in a respectful retirement. We’d need some experienced person or group to conduct that spectacular burn, tend the fire (which could burn for days) and clean up the moop mess…and whatever is left of the charred sculpture.
Sounds like fun, hu. To share an idea, learn more about anything discussed here, or talk to us about how you may wish to participate, email us at:
See you on the playa (or before…)!!!
